Calexico, Imperial County
Calexico lies at the southern edge of the Imperial Valley, almost exactly at sea level, with irrigated fields beginning at the city limits. The All-American Canal, which carries Colorado River water to the valley, passes just to the north. San Diego State University has run a small campus near the center of town since 1959, on the grounds of the old high school.
